This week at Den of Geek I wrote about why I would play the heck out of Jedi Academy 2 and how Episode VII could benefit from being at least partially a school story.
That was written before fans got the news that the Expanded Universe, including the Jedi Academy in all of its forms, had been essentially disbanded. My hope remains rather the same, though, since the press release from Star Wars.com states that (“Creators of new Star Wars entertainment have full access to the rich content of the Expanded Universe.") Some fans have negative feelings toward Kevin J. Anderson’s Jedi Academy trilogy; maybe a new series in the canon EU can show the praxeum off at its full potential.
In a continued effort to skew extremely positive, I will also echo one of my roommate’s comments about Darth Revan and say that female alien Jaden Korr is now just as canon as white male Jaden Korr. (Paul S. Kemp, who was tasked with writing Korr in "Crosscurrent" and "Riptide," will be writing about two more white males in “Lords of the Sith.”)
